James Watt Nanofabrication Centre Mini-Conference

HERMES consortium is a network of highly acclaimed research and higher education institutions! We are glad to report Eve McGlynn, María Cerezo Sánchez and Finlay Walton from our consortium partner University of Glasgow - Microelectronics Lab (meLAB), attended the James Watt Nanofabrication Centre Mini-Conference on May 17th to present the HERMES project to researchers in nano fabrication, with a 3-minute thesis talk and poster.

The James Watt nanofabrication Centre (JWNC) is a 1400 m2 cleanroom at the University of Glasgow which houses over Ј35M of state-of-the-art fabrication and metrology equipment. It is one of the leading centres of research and international collaboration in micro and nanofabrication technologies undertaking fundamental, applied and commercial research, and small industrial prototyping and production runs. The Centre is currently collaborating with 37 Universities and Research institutions worldwide underpinning a grant portfolio of Ј53M at the University of Glasgow and Ј65M at other institutions. This includes the UK National Quantum Technology Programme where it is fabricating components for all four Hubs. Raising awareness is crucial for any organization operating in the scientific sector and promoting knowledge through academic exchange initiatives. In HERMES every member takes a proactive role in the effort to maximize the outreach of the project by participating in meeting, conference and workshops with the possibility of networking with other groups who work in similar fields at both European and international level.
