UNIMORE was founded in 1175 and is a teaching and research University, currently hosting 19000 students. UNIMORE includes 14 Departments (offering a wide range of degree programs in most disciplinary areas, from undergraduate to doctoral level), 16 Research Centers, and 5 Service Centers. UNIMORE has over 300 international exchange agreements and cooperation programs encouraging students to actively interact in a globalized world. UNIMORE participates with the Interdepartmental Center for Neuroscience and Neurotechnology (CfNN). CfNN was established in 2016 as a hub for the complementary exchange between different competences and scientific interests, with the mission of strengthening the collaboration between basic and clinical research, and innovative biotechnology in the field of Neuroscience.

I hold a MSc in Biological Sciences and a PhD in General Physiology. After several years of international experience, I returned to Italy and established myself at UNIMORE thanks to the program "Rientro dei Cervelli". I have a strong background in epilepsy research, by means of in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology, built across 20 years of national and international experience. Throughout my professional development, I have gradually transitioned from in vitro electrophysiology of single cells, to in vitro electrophysiology of neuronal networks, to in vivo whole-brain electrophysiology using video-EEG recordings.
I am an MD with specialty in Endocrinology. My main expertise is in the field of in vivo and ex vivo analysis of rodent models of addiction and neurodegeneration. I was trained in neurohistology, neurochemistry and neuropharmacology in Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden) and in molecular and cellular neurobiology at the Institut Pasteur (Paris). I have more recently expanded my research interest to translational aspects of the Neurosciences, including nanotechnological approaches to drug delivery to the brain and organic electronic devices for locoregional therapy in the brain, and human genetics of neuropsychiatric diseases.
I will provide my expertise in behavioral analysis of small rodents (testing of hippocampus-related behaviors) and in immunohistochemistry.
I hold a MSc in Neuroscience and a PhD in Neuroscience and Cognitive Sciences, both from the University of Trieste (Italy). Before joining HERMES, I was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Bologna. My expertise spans animal behavioral studies, cell culturing procedures and in vitro electrophysiology, in particular patch-clamp recordings using several possible configurations (whole cell, cell-attached, inside-out, perforated patch).
I am a Biologist and I hold a PhD in Neurophysiology. I am currently holding a position as Associated Professor in Physiology at UNIMORE. During the last 15 years I have attended several research laboratories as Visiting Professor (Columbia University in New York, supported in two occasions by the Fulbright Scholar program, University College of London and Washington University in Saint Louis).
I have a strong experience in in vitro brain and spinal cord electrophysiology (patch-clamp, extracellular recording).
I am a Biologist. I am currently holding a position as Associated Professor in Pharmacology at UNIMORE. During the last 30 years I have attended several international research laboratories as Visiting Scientist (International School for Advanced Studies-SISSA, Italy; Heidelberg University, Germany; University of Illinois, USA; University of Dundee, UK), as Post-doctoral fellow and Research Assistant Professor (Georgetown University, USA).
I have a strong experience in tissue cultures, primarily dissociated neurons, toxicology tests and patch-clamp electrophysiology.
I am a Biologist and I hold a PhD in Epatogastric and Endocrinometabolic Science. Since 2005 I am a graduated technician at the Department of Biomedical, Metabolic and Neural Sciences at UNIMORE, where I collaborate with different research groups providing my expertise in animal care and surgery, animal behavior tests, histology, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy and image analysis.
I am a Biologist graduated at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy).
I performed experiments in epilepsy research field.
In addition, I have past experience in immunohistochemistry, ELISA, spectrophotometry, molecular biology and cell culture.
I am a Biologist and I obtained my Master degree in Experimental and Applied Biology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy).
I have experience in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell culture and transfection methods, in immunohistochemistry, BRET technique and molecular biology.
I achieved a Master Degree in Neuroscience at the University of Pavia, and, after a postgraduate internship at the University College Dublin (UCD), I started my Ph.D. in Neuroscience at UNIMORE.
I perform preclinical studies, focusing on stereotaxic surgeries, histology, and immunostaining. I also have experience in the pilocarpine model of TLE, in behavioral studies and molecular biology
I am a Biologist and I obtained my Master Degree in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy).
I have experience in epilepsy research, immunohistochemistry, histology, EEG analysis and the pilocarpine model of TLE
